I provide individual counseling to youth and adults ages 13 and older. Although treatment is provided on an individual basis, families/caregivers are seen as an integral part of the treatment team and are included to the extent deemed appropriate on a case by case basis and dependent on the age of the individual client.

I approach each individual with a humanistic style, building rapport over the initial sessions. I work on creating a caring, comfortable environment in which clients feel at ease. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques towards the client’s presenting issues or problems.
Clients are guided towards identifying patterns associated with their thoughts, feelings and choices in order to gain insight into their presenting issues and empowering them to try new things. Clients are encouraged to explore new strategies and develop healthy skills to manage ongoing concerns.
Roleplaying, journaling, goal setting, guided imagery, mindfulness activities, readings, homework assignments, games, art and music are tools that may be incorporated into the work with clients. The impact of all areas of a client’s life (home, school, work) may be explored within scheduled sessions.
